Why is Norway Glorifying Terror?

Why is Norway glorifying the murder of children?

The best single explanation for why it has been impossible to achieve an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement is that Palestinians continue to honor terrorists who murder Israelis, and to teach their children that such killers are Palestine's greatest citizens and models. Dalal Mughrabi was the leader of the "coastal highway massacre" of 1978, a bus hijacking in which 37 Israelis, including 12 children, were murdered. She has three schools named after her, plus parks, plazas, and the like.

Now she has a new "cultural center" named after her--and Norway helped pay for it. The invaluable Palestine Media Watch tells the story:

In another show of admiration for terrorist murderers and according to the Palestinian Authority's policy of presenting them as role models for Palestinian youth, the Palestinian NGO "Women's Technical Affairs Committee" (WTAC) has named a youth center for women after the terrorist murderer who led the most lethal attack in Israel's history.

The Dalal Mughrabi Center is a joint initiative of the NGO, the PA, the UN, and the Norwegian government! The center's name sign prominently includes the logos of:

- The PA Ministry of Local Government

- UN Women

- The Norwegian Representative Office to the PA

Last year, Norway acted to ensure that its considerable aid to the Palestinians does not go into cash payments to convicted terrorists. But it is still supporting terror. This new center "will focus especially on the history of the struggle of Martyr Dalal Mughrabi and on presenting it to the youth groups...." In other words, its focus is teaching children that killing Israelis is the most admirable thing a Palestinian can do. And Norway is paying.

A similar situation in Europe, or in Norway itself, is unthinkable: Would they permit a youth center named after Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian who killed 77 people in 2011? But when it comes to killing Israelis, a different morality appears to apply. Norwegians should consider their country's contribution to the "Martyr Dalal Mughrabi Center," the official name, to be a continuing source of shame.

UPDATE: Norway has acted. The Foreign Minister has demanded that Norway's name be taken off the Center, and has demanded that Norwegian aid moneys used be refunded. Hats off to Oslo for this quick reaction to Palestine Media Watch. But here's a question: why does it take an NGO to discover this?  Why don't donors like Norway keep track themselves? How many other examples are there where European aid moneys are being spent to glorify terror?
