It weaves together historical narrative, academic debate, and discussion of contemporary developments in world affairs to paint a compelling and provocative picture of the emerging nature of global politics. The book would be appropriate in a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including introduction to world politics, U.S. foreign policy, international security, European affairs and transatlantic relations, and upper level courses in international relations.
