Pieter A. Fisher (1931–92)

Pieter A. Fisher was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations for sixteen years and a partner in the Wall Street firm of Goldman Sachs. Fisher’s business interests over the years also included the Ramco Oil and Gas Company of Oklahoma City, in which he was a partner. He and his wife also owned a vineyard in Rutherford, California, and built a winery, Clos du Montagne, on the property.

Fisher was born in Baltimore and grew up there. He graduated in 1953 from Princeton and received a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1957. After working as an executive in advertising agencies, Fisher joined Goldman Sachs in 1964. He became a general partner in 1975 and a limited partner in 1986.
