January 16, 2001, New York, NY – The Council on Foreign Relations is delighted to announce that its first "on-line book" will be published early in December by Columbia International Affairs Online, www.ciaonet.org. Edited by Council Senior Fellow Ann Markusen and entitled America’s Peace Dividend: Essays on the Achievements of the 1990s and the Challenges Ahead, it includes commissioned papers by Lawrence Korb, David Gold, Michael Oden, Ann Markusen, Laura Wolf-Powers, William Hartung, and Joseph Cirincione, and comments on the papers by Charles Knight, David Mosher, Dov Zakheim, Cindy Williams, David Berteau, Owen Herrnstadt, Katherine Schinasi, Natalie Goldring, Joel Johnson, and Earl Ravenal. On or after December 1, council members can access the book through the username "Strategy" and password "Defense."
